Kapa haka Festival

These three photos show the students from our class that participated in the kotuku festival. Our class members are so proud that those five students participated in the festival, and the five students names are Tama, Iraia, Nastazia, La'shae and Moko.

It is the last Day!

It is the last day that, our dance teacher was going to teach us at our school. It is the last day that, we would see our dance teacher at school again. For the past five weeks Izzy our dance teacher taught us, many things about hip hop. I believe that, was the first time a hip hop teacher has arrived at our school and I it was really amusing. Besides going up by yourself or going in groups and dancing, it was really amusing. At the end of the lesson, Izzy gave our class one certificate each and on the right of it is a seven day pass to a dance class in Papatoetoe. We could decide to perform hip hop, jazz, tap dance, contemporary, ballet, acrobatics or a musical theatre.

I Did It Again!

Today I performed a prototec timed assessment, and I am really proud of myself. I received a result of 100 percent for the third to fifth time in a row. I got this score by calculating the equations really quick and by concentrating really hard on the timed assessment. I hope I will constantly get 100 percent until the end of the year and I also hope that prototec will make stage 9.

Congratulations Glen Innes!

On the 24th November, at the Ruapotaka marae our school was one of the many schools that performed on stage to celebrate the very first te kotuku festival. Five of the students that represented our school, belonged to our class, room 8. The day before they performed on stage, they performed at our school to give us a sneak peek of their performance. With only a few students form our school performing, they showed their true culture and how proud they were.

Etching

Last Friday, our class started a piece of art called etching. Etching is very unique piece of art compared to other pieces of art our class tempted to do. It is really distinctive compared to the matariki art our class did and the theme was based on Vincent Van Gogh's art, starry night. If you want to perform etching yourself, you will have to pick a theme, the theme I picked was flags. To do this you will have to divide a piece of paper into three parts. (If you want to be creative divide in anyway, the parts do not have to be the same.) When you decided how you are going to divide it, choose three different colours for each part. The colors I chose were the three hot colors, red, orange and yellow. Next, paint the three parts and wait for it to dry, thereafter pick three other colors and paint over your three recent colors. Then use a popsicle stick to create your picture, but you will have to draw while it is wet. When you finish your piece of art, you get to witness how great your work turned out to be. Many artists have performed etching like, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Daniel Hopfer and many more artists.
