Prototec T4W1

Today I did my very first basic facts assessment for term four. Today I have remained on the same exact score, although I remained on the same score, I have received the highest percentage. I am really overwhelmed with my result. I received this score by calculating the problems as fast as possible and by focusing. By the end of the year, I hope to constantly get one hundred percent.

Time For Dinner!

“Can we stay over at Noah’s house, mum?” My siblings and I asked, “Okay. You can go,” my mother replied. My siblings and I urged to spend the night at our uncle’s house, and our mother allowed us to go. We wanted to visit him because, we barely see him around anymore.

First, we played board games, watched movies and played video games in their living room, but it was more like an apartment. If you go outside onto the deck, you can see almost the whole city and it is a really good view. My mother texted my uncle if we were fine, so he replied yes. He then asked if we could stay a little longer, my mother said accepted his request. After she allowed us to stay, deep inside of me I wanted to go with my mother to church but since my siblings stayed, I just remained with them. Then my father used my mother’s phone and texted that, we had to make dinner. My uncle agreed to my father’s request to make dinner.

Next, my uncle, my brother and I went driving around Glenfield looking for mitre ten mega, but before we went searching for mitre ten. We first went to gilmours to buy the food we needed, next we found mitre ten and bought a grill. As we were there my brother’s fingernail had slightly come off, but don’t worry about him he’s alright. We eventually arrived at countdown to buy the rest of the food.

Then, we were ready to prepare dinner. As we arrived home, we had to manually assemble the grill. We then placed a table outside and rested the grill on top. My uncle placed pieces of charcoal inside the grill and used a lighter to set the charcoal on fire, it took a few minutes but we eventually got to put the food on top. Then we placed the first piece of food which was chicken, after we finished grilling the chicken we placed about five pieces of lamb on the grill. After it was ready we placed pork ribs on the grill and it tasted like something I have never tasted before. My parents then arrived just in time for dinner. The aroma of the food smelt so good that I’d use it for perfume.

The ribs were so delicious, if it was the end of the world I would just eat those ribs until I am dead. As we were eating, we watched highlights from the New Zealand vs South Africa game. After eating dinner I was so full, but I urged to eat more. I really appreciated that, my uncle made dinner for us and I hope to go back to his house again.

Composting and Worm farming

This term my group of friends and I made this project. Our inquiry investigation question was, how to compost in the winter. First, we used the internet to research our topic.  Then we constructed this project. I brought the small, green bucket and filled it with leaves, grass and bark. Jaiden and Javarn painted the box blue to represent the bright sky. Iraia grabbed a batch of paper napkins, one piece of cardboard and white paper. We all drew the snowflakes in the background and we even added a little snowman, but our teacher told us that we had to make the snowflakes 3D. The snowflakes are cut out of the picture, but you could see the edge of it on the top right corner. We used a small bucket, paper napkins, a cardboard box, a piece of cardboard and a piece of white paper. The easiest part of our project was the painting part, because Javarn spoke to me and said, “It only took five minutes!” The most challenging part of this project was making the snowflakes. As I said before, our teacher told us that we had to make it 3D, which was pretty difficult. It helped me understand more, because it was more realistic. The next thing I would like to investigate, is the solar system.

Prototec T3W10

Today, my class and I concluded the term with our last prototec test and we are all excited for the school holidays. The result I received on prototec stage 8 timed was 100%, and I am overjoyed with my results this term. From the beginning of the term I got 97% and I have progressed and got 100%. I focused so hard this term that, I got 100% since week 6 and I have got this score constantly up to week 10, which is today. I believe that I am above the curriculum level for a year 6 student.

Robot Art

Last Thursday, our substitute teacher Mrs Kirby, did a piece of art with us using bright colours. We were inspired by the famous artist Karl Apple. We had to draw robots using different types of shapes, like a pentagon, a hexagon, quadrilateral shapes and other types of shapes. We then had to colour in the pictures and thereafter, we had to dye the picture in blue or green dye.
